The 2017 Ford Super Duty Lineup at Route 23 Ford in Butler, NJ. We haven’t even gotten into 2016 yet and people are already beginning to get excited about the new 2017 Ford F-Series line of heavy-duty pickups! Ford has released some information about the 2017 Super Duty series, although we’re still not getting solid numbers from them about how much it will weigh, tow, or haul. While Ford will probably wait a bit to release this information, these trucks for 2017 are already becoming highly anticipated!

Aluminum Body for the 2017 Ford Super Duty Trucks.

Ford has been trying to save weight on its pickups while increasing their towing and hauling capacity. Much like the 2015 Ford F-150, Ford took that same idea with the aluminum door panels and made the entire body aluminum for the 2017 trucks. This itself will save up to 350 pounds per truck of weight. While it doesn’t seem like a huge amount, these numbers definitely help increase the towing and hauling capacity. The aluminum is strong yet light, and Ford delivers on the frame to ensure the truck is just as safe and reliable as it’s ever been—the steel frame uses 95% high-strength steel, which is six times more strong than what’s currently available. In addition, the suspension has been improved as well as the rear axles, giving you a safer and more comfortable ride no matter what you’re hauling.

2017 Ford Super Duty Engine Options:

The engines haven’t changed much for these 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks. Ford will still offer the 6.2L V8 and the class-exclusive 6.8L V10 that’s gas powered for the 450 and 550 trucks as well as the 6.7L V8 Powerstroke diesel. While Ford alleges that the engines will be more powerful, we haven’t gotten any numbers from them yet. The 6.2L V8 is paired with the TorqShift 6-speed transmission. All mentions of the engines have been automatic transmissions, so the outlook for getting a manual transmission doesn’t look promising, but who knows what Ford will reveal when the time comes to showcase these trucks!

Upgrades for Interior and Exterior.

Ford has changed the cab of the 2017 Super Duty line, so they only offer one cab for the three beds you can choose from—regular, crew, and super. In order to accommodate the cab configuration to the beds and stick with just one cab, the Super Duty needed to be raised up an inch, so the truck is an inch taller than what’s available today from Ford. This will be good for those who are taller, but for people who aren’t so tall, this truck might just seem huge! Ford has integrated a fold-down stair that comes out of the tailgate for easy access, in addition to lights in the bed to let you see your cargo. The 2017 F-Series trucks from Ford are all equipped with LED lights inside and out. The second row seat is now able to fold completely flat, providing even more cargo space for your stuff.
